A new chapter for two historic London buildings.

When we acquired this Grade II listed old Magistrates Court in London Bridge, we knew our job was to make it relevant for a new generation of users, all while retaining its unique spirit and character.

Having gained planning permission for a 40-room hotel in the old Magistrates Court, we also acquired the site to the rear of the building, which once housed the borough’s police station.

The former uses of these two buildings informed our thinking when it came to the renovation and design.

From restoring the judges’ bench and incorporating it into the design of the Courtroom Bar, to constructing chandeliers from handcuffs once used in the police station, we ensured the history of these two iconic buildings was retained and celebrated throughout the hotel.

Free use of meeting rooms for local community groups

Discounts for locals

We were sensitive to the fact that both the court and the police station had been public buildings and had served the local community for decades.

As such, we gave local community groups free access to the hotel meeting rooms, and launched a number of discount schemes for local people and businesses operating within the neighbourhood.
