Dominus Real Estate have appointed Ian Trinder as its new CFO, a renewed signal that the Group is looking to strike partnerships and tap sources of co-investment as it continues to scale up its property development business and expand into new property classes.
This announcement marks the second high-profile appointment to the company in as many months, following fast on the heels the appointment of Adam Ratzker as Commercial Director in August. Trinder joins the company with immediate effect, bringing to the business decades of experience in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, strategic planning and risk management.
Trinder’s arrival is a renewed signal that the company is looking to strike partnerships and tap sources of co-investment as it looks to further scale its property development business, expand into new types of real estate, and take advantage of the fresh opportunities revealed in the current market. He joins from Pegasus Life, where he was responsible for arranging over £1 billion of development finance and led the acquisition of Renaissance Retirement.
He started his career as a chartered accountant at Ernst and Young before seven years as Finance Director at Hamptons was during that time, set up Joint Ventures with CBRE and Hometrack, acquired and sold stakes in Primelocation and Propertyfinder and restructured the International operations. This was followed by a promotion to CFO at Audley Group, a developer and operator of luxury retirement villages backed by Moorfield, before the move to Pegasus.
Ian Trinder said:
It is an exciting time to be joining a business as entrepreneurial as Dominus Real Estate and I cannot wait to play a role in its future growth. Over the last decade I have watched its success at expanding into new areas of real estate development, and now I have a chance to be part of that continuing story.
Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia, Founder of Dominus, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ian to the company. His deep knowledge of corporate finance, strategic planning and risk management, as well as his well-recognised track-record as an entrepreneurial CFO means he is the best person to join the company right now.
