As part of an innovative move to maintain footfall and profile during the pandemic and lockdown Provisioners – the all-day restaurant located in The Dixon hotel in Tower Bridge – launched a limited-edition menu in collaboration with celebrity comedian Jack Whitehall and his food brand and blog, FoodSlut.
The limited edition menu residency was launched on the 25th September with an exclusive celebrity meal as Jack Whitehall played host to TV presenter Laura Whitmore, models Lottie Moss and Roxy Horner, and his ‘A League of Their Own’ co-stars Freddie Flintoff, Romesh Ranganathan and Jamie Redknapp. The celebrity pop-up was due to last until the 18th October, but its success has ensured that it was extended until the start of November and then renewed for a special Christmas-themed weekend menu on the 10th-13th December.
Jack and co-founder, Marcus Petty-Saphon, created the brand, blog and original recipes as a celebration of unapologetically decadent food that should be enjoyed to the fullest. During the first lockdown, FoodSlut also launched a burger kit to support London food waste charity, The Felix Project.
The menu featured a series of indulgent brunch, lunch and dinner dishes for meat eaters and vegans alike, including the infamous ‘Slutty Burger’ and the special-edition Possible Burger created in collaboration with the Felix Project.
On the collaboration, Jack Whitehall said, ”We are so excited to launch our first FoodSlut residency at Provisioners. There’s something quite fun about the fact we’ll be serving a menu that pushes the boundaries of culinary decency in a restaurant on the site of an old Magistrate’s Court and police station! We’re also very pleased to be working with the Felix Project again and we’re looking forward to seeing what the public thinks of our food.”
Jay Ahluwalia, Director at Dominus Real Estate commented,
We’re really looking forward to working with Jack and the FoodSlut team on this never seen before menu. Our chefs have worked closely with the FoodSlut team to create some amazingly indulgent dishes and we are so excited for our guests to try them.
